In
an interview with Rap-Up TV Ne-Yo talks about his forthcoming album ‘R.E.D’ due
for release on November 6th.
According to the singer-songwriter, R.E.D is an acronym that stands for Realise Every Dream, “I call the album
that because pretty much from age 9 and now every dream and every goal that I’ve
set for myself in regards to music has been realised through music. So basically
this album is a celebration of my first love which is music”.
Following The
Game’s 2011 album also titled R.E.D; Ne-Yo explains that the R.E.D movement
is about bringing back good music to radio and TV. He further highlights that his
album is a declaration of blurring of the lines, “I’m 100% an R&B artist, that’s
my core, that’s my foundation but I’ve developed a fan base in this world of
Pop-Music, in this world of Dance-Music and I got to go on records by saying
that it wouldn’t been possible for me to have my dance and pop fans it weren’t
for my background of R&B”.
Ne-Yo admits that R.E.D is his first album that will entail a healthy balance of both
Pop and R&B and believes that should satisfy all of his fans. Ne-Yo makes
mention of some of the artists and producers
who he worked with in his project and he’s delighted to have amongst them Diddy, Stargate, No I.D, Sia, Da Internz, The Underdogs, Fabolous and Salaam Remi.
In the interview Ne-Yo also makes mention of his contributions to Rihanna’s new album, which is expected to hit stores by the end of 2012, he further hinted that there are two solid songs that he wrote for her that she is keen to keep.
