where I stand, the Lonmin strike was no way to produce the exact demands the
workers were striking for.
I
write with conviction that the Lonmin mine owners themselves know that majority
of the country’s lower class populace (more in particular the mine workers
themselves), work for survival thus there is no way that they can strike for
two months straight non-stop. Had the workers continued striking for even
longer they would not have enough money to sustain and or/ support their
families. It is no secret that most of the country’s lower class populace earn
to as close as nothing. Therefore it makes it difficult for a lower class
citizen to save from their monthly salary.
